Competences:
- Connecting to the Environment
- Research & Reflection
- Artistic Creation
Level 2: Deepening & Enriching
A sufficient level is achieved when students deliberately choose their own solutions for problems or assignments with a divergent nature, and when they demonstrate the ability to employ relevant competences, skill, and knowledge in doing so, based on research and experiment.
Learning Outcomes
LO 1: Relate
The student selects and responds to sensations, perceptions, intuitions, environments, and social contexts, developing these relationships into emerging artistic motives, motivations, and practices.
LO 2: Investigate
The student develops an artistic and conceptual approach through an increasingly independent and focused process of making, reflecting, and researching, in which relevant sources, references, and contexts are examined, and first artistic concepts and propositions are articulated.
LO 3: Materialise
As part of an increasingly independent artistic process, the student purposefully engages with material, form, intuition, reflection, and contemplation, and investigates the qualities and possibilities of different materials, techniques and technologies, showing a gradual awareness of how these shape the development and meaning of their work.
Inhoud
In the second year, the Studio programme deepens the student’s artistic practice through self-directed experimentation, practice-based research, and critical reflection. Students expand their working methods and begin to make deliberate artistic choices based on their own questions, interests, and emerging artistic position.
In Studio 3, students explore different approaches to making and research, testing directions and investigating the relationship between concept, material, and context. Through iterative processes of experimentation, analysis and reflection, they develop an emerging personal working method and begin to formulate their own criteria.
In Studio 4, students consolidate their direction by developing more coherent bodies of work. They take increased ownership of their process, articulate intentions, and make informed decisions regarding form, presentation and context.
The Theory component supports practice-based research, documentation and critical dialogue, enabling students to articulate their work in relation to conceptual, theoretical, and material perspectives.
